The balance of grace and faith

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
You are not saved by grace alone. You are not saved by faith alone. Grace makes salvation available. Faith receives it. Grace refers to all that God has made available for you, independent of you. Faith refers to the process of receiving all that God has made available by grace.
There are whole denominations who take grace to the extreme, teaching that you have no part to play in the affairs of your life and that God sovereignly controls everything that happens in your life. There is another sect that believes that you are totally responsible for everything that happens in your life and that you have to twist the arm of God every-time you want something from him.
Grace and faith are like sodium and chloride. If you take sodium alone, you will die. If you take chlorine alone, you will die. But if you join them together, it will give you a salt called NaCl, and if you don’t have it daily, you will die. So you see, you have to combine them together so as to get the best result.
The grace of God has been distributed equally to every man. But not every man has received it. The grace of God that was extended towards Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts and Benson Idahosa, is exactly the same that was extended towards Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden and Adolf Hitler. The only difference is that the former recognized and accepted it, but the latter ignored and neglected it. So use your faith to get everything that God has provided through grace. This is so simple, you need someone to help you misunderstand it.
