It was around
8pm and I was walking towards lecture theater when I saw the building.....it
was dark out and all the lights in and around the building were on and it was
magnificent!! The lights on the ground floor are yellow while the lights on the
top are white and the contrasting colours add to its beauty....if you haven’t
guessed by now, I love art; be it poetry, music, drawing, architecture.... just
basically anything creative, so I couldn’t just walk past the building, I stood
there staring at it in awe and admiration, then the Holy Spirit said that
that's how God looked at us when He was done creating us....you know that
feeling you get, when you've done something so awesome, so beautiful, so
creative...when you're done, you just stare at it with a smile on your face. So
it baffles me when people think they are ugly....who told you so? You might not
be the finest girl in your class or the finest among your friends or in your
family but you are not ugly! It even says in the Word that we were created in
the Image of God; yes I know people say it doesn’t mean physically and so on
but still by calling yourself ugly you are saying that God created a bad thing.
You might think you’re so ugly that when people see you, they cringe but I’m
certain that God didn’t cringe when He was done making you, He smiled, so don’t
let what other people call you define who you’ll be, don’t go around with your
head bent just because you think you aren’t good looking enough. I think that to an
extent it’s your mindset that affects you, I’ve seen boys who in the natural
sense aren’t good looking yet girls like them and when I asked these girls why
they still like these boys even though they don’t think they’re so good
looking, they always said either because of their character, maturity or the
way they carry themselves.....my point is, if you really still believe you’re
ugly then why don’t you work on your character, maturity and the way you carry
yourself....instead of obsessing about how much more good looking everyone else
is and giving yourself low self esteem, why don’t you develop yourself in those
aspects and build your confidence by so doing instead...I’ve met people who
didn’t care what other people thought about the way they looked, the things
they said or the things they did as long as they knew that the people/person
that loved them and they loved also was pleased with them, why not incorporate
that mindset....don’t care what other people think about the way you look as
long as you know that God whom loves you and whom you love is pleased with
it.... I pray that you’ll begin to see yourself as God sees you...
