Hello, Osato again and this time I’m going to be telling you about
inward beauty and I’m going to dabble on outer beauty too.
To me everyone is beautiful (on the outside) but some people are more
pleasing to look at, than others. On the outside, I think it is necessary to
take care of yourself and always try to look good and smell good but I also think
that your outer beauty should not be your main priority, I believe you should try
to spend more time developing your inner beauty because that’s what really
counts. I’ve met people, who when I first saw them from afar I thought “oh wow,
such beauty” but when I got to know that, they didn’t seem so beautiful anymore
and I’ve also met people who when I saw them from afar I just thought “ehn,
he/she is just there, not so striking” but when I got to know them they seemed
to become more beautiful! So you see, your inner beauty can actually make you
look better on the outside but the reverse is never really the case.
1st PETER 3:3(NIV) says: “Your beauty should not come from
outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and
fine clothes”. Fear not! This passage doesn’t mean that you should let yourself
go” and not care how you look o, its saying that you should not spend all your
energy decorating the outside and then neglect the qualities that need to be developed
on the inside. Go on and read verse 4 of 1st PETER 3, that beauty
even gets better the older it gets. I’d like you to also read PROVERBS
31:10-31, there, you’ll find God’s picture of a beautiful woman.
If I ask you to picture the perfect guy for you, is he: loving, wise, kind,
loyal, faithful, gentle, God loving and so on? That is an amazing guy! And do
you think that amazing guy wants to be with someone who only cares about how
she looks on the outside and has no depth whatsoever? I doubt it.
So you see, to get a prince, you must be a princess, you have to develop
these qualities in yourself but don’t worry, it’s easier than you think, you
should first let the Holy Spirit take charge because it is He not you who
produces these godly characters you should desire which can be found in GALATIANS
5:22-23. “Virtue is developed over time as you allow God’s Spirit to do a special
work in your life”.
In the beginning of the post, I told you about 2 types of people I’ve
met, but there’s a 3rd type, the type I believe we should all want
to be under and that 3rd type is the category of people who look
good on the outside and look even better on the inside, people who are
beautiful in and out.
So as you apply that lipstick or put on that starched shirt (if you are
a guy and decided to read this anyway) don’t forget to make sure your inner
beauty is in check as wellJ.
